Attention Deer Hunters! Are you eagerly counting down the days until hunting season kicks off? If so, Outdoor Recreation (ODR) has something thrilling in store for you this year!
Get ready and join the ultimate hunting challenge, the Big Buck Contest and snag some incredible door prizes! The contest runs from September 12 to January 27, 2027, and we’re calling all passionate deer hunters to join the excitement! Registration kicks off on August 12 and runs through October 1. Show off your skills in two thrilling categories: Archery and Firearm deer hunting. With three winners in each category, the competition is fierce! Your bucks must be harvested on Fort Benning and verified with an iSportsman harvest tag. Our certified Buckmaster Scorer, Hollie Craig, will be on hand to measure and score those impressive antlers.
To enter your buck into the contest, contact Hollie at 706-366-3338 to schedule your scoring appointment. Don’t forget, proof of registration before harvesting your buck is a must for entry!
Your buck will be scored at two fantastic locations in Georgia: Outdoor Recreation at 7310 Gillespie Street, Building 1707, and the Recreational Shooting Complex at 7839 1st Division Road, Building 2975, both nestled in the heart of Fort Benning, Georgia. Alabama hunters, your destination is the scenic Uchee Creek Campground & Marina at 7 Uchee Creek Road, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
And remember, keep your buck within state lines for eligibility! Get ready to aim, score, and claim your place among the hunting elite!
