CYS Youth Sports is looking for coaches for the following sports:  Football, Flag Football, Soccer, Baseball, T-Ball, Coach pitch Baseball, Wrestling and Basketball to coach children ages 5-16.  Give back to the community and coach a new generation of athletes!  (Coaches discounts offered!)

Coaching requirements:

  • local background checks must be cleared on all coaches prior to team assignment
  • Coaches must attend one of the coaches clinics to review the roles and coaching policies and become certified through the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS)

CYS Sports

CYS offers sports for ages 3-15. Team sports include soccer, t-ball, baseball, football, basketball, track and field, wrestling, cheerleading and more. A variety of individual sports, clinics and camps are available throughout the year. Those who are already registered at Parent Central for CYS can register for upcoming sports at WebTrac.

Parents, offer your evaluation of youth volunteer coaches at the National Alliance for Youth Sports.  You will need the coach member number, which is available through your Youth Sports office.

Storytelling through Ecosystem (6 classes) Tuesdays      4:30 - 5:15 p.m. Grades 6th - 8th $80
In this storytelling development class, we will create a world where we travel through the unforgettable ecosystem! Through the power of storytelling and creating unbelievable characters, students will be able to explain how the ecosystem is structured and how each living environment is different from the next. This class will also touch on the different elements that it takes in order to be a believable actor.
Acting 101 (6 classes) Tuesdays      5:30 - 6:15 p.m. Grades 9th and up $80
In this acting class, we will cover topics including scene work, monologues, auditions, memorizing lines, working with a scene partner, improvisation, and the difference between working in the film industry and on the stage. This workshop will train young actors on how their body and voice are their most important instruments that they will own. Lastly, students will leave with monologues, warm ups, and will be ready for any role that comes their way!
ACTivate (6 classes) Thursdays          5 - 5:45 p.m. Grades K - 2  $80

This hands-on, exciting workshop will create a new "city" and everything that is in it: buildings, roads, parks and community helpers. As actors, students will use their body, voice and imagination to construct their characters. They will write scenes between its community helper characters, and solve city problems. Let’s see, together, what your creative city does to help others and what characters and stories that your student comes up with!

Creative Movement with Metaphors (6 classes) Thursdays          6 - 6:45 p.m. Grades K and up $80
Words are powerful. So are you. We will explore how creative movement can help express metaphors in this lively class. We will dive into understanding how figure of speech, symbolism, and imagery impact movement through space through different elements of creative expression. Using the body as the most important and powerful tool of communication, we will explore what happens when words and movement coincide. We will use poems, speeches, and songs in order to create dynamic art.

Sounds of Math! (6 classes)

Thursdays       6 - 6:45 p.m. Grades 3-5 $80

Math and music go together! Join us on the journey of figuring how fractions and music go hand and hand . This class will teach students how to create sound with their bodies, while expressing math equations through the same rhythm! Music lives in you! Explore how to creatively express how fractions work, while creating a sound that no one has ever heard before!
