Hey there! As we shine a spotlight on Child Abuse Prevention this month, we wanted to make sure you were in the know about some upcoming events. Let's come together to raise awareness and support for our little ones who deserve a safe and nurturing environment. So, let's join forces and show our commitment to ending child abuse once and for all. Together, we can create a future where every child grows up feeling loved and protected. Don’t forget to wear blue each Friday this month! If you have any questions about the events this month, please contact the Family Advocacy Program at +1 (706) 545-3202 or +1 (706) 545-4013.

April 4: FAP Fact Fridays: NPSP First Steps – Purple Crying: 11 – 11:30 a.m. | Building 36
This awesome program offers valuable resources and support for new parents who may be struggling to cope with their baby's crying. Through this session, parents are taught strategies on how to soothe their babies during these episodes and help manage their own stress levels. It also creates an opportunity for new parents to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences, creating a supportive community and network for families to lean on during these challenging times. Overall, this program is a great way for new parents to gain knowledge, support, and reassurance as they navigate the ups and downs of parenthood.

April 26: MOMC Kids Fest: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Blue Field
Join the Family Advocacy Program and Child and Youth Services as we celebrate the strength and resilience of our military children! There will be plenty of fun activities planned for all ages like face painting, balloon art, table games, inflatables and much more! We hope to see you there!
April 29: ID Fingerprinting: 1 – 2 p.m. | MACH Pediatric Clinic
By distributing fingerprint kits to parents, the Family Advocacy Program aims to empower families with a proactive approach to child safety. These kits provide a valuable resource for parents in case of emergencies, enabling them to share their child’s identifying information quickly and accurately with law enforcement. The Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division recommends parents and guardians update their child’s information whenever necessary and replace the child’s photograph in the kit every 6 months, or at least once a year when their child is photographed for school.
