Become a Youth Sports Coach!

Make a difference while having fun! Volunteer as a coach with CYS Youth Sports & Fitness.  Youth Sports needs you – we can’t run this program without your help.

Why should you become a Youth Sports Coach?

  • First of all – it’s tons of fun. You sign up for a 6 weeks season, set your own schedule, direct communication with the athletes and you can coach your own children!

What are my benefits for being a Youth Sports Coach?  Good question!

  • Again, first of all – it’s tons of fun! Whether it’s during practice or during a game – fun is the most important benefit. You will be teaching and have a major impact on the youth you are teaching. Having productive practices, gaining experience, positive peer pressure and learning to compete.

But that’s not it! If you coach – your kids play for free.

  • You accumulate volunteer hours, put those in VMIS and get those approved, not only for the time you are on the field, for every minute you spend on the sport you are coaching, sending emails out, making phone calls – even for the time it takes you to drive to practice and games! (Those Volunteer hours come in handy later for your upcoming promotion).
  • And again – don’t forget – you coach soccer and your kids play free soccer!

To top it – we throw in a fancy coach’s shirt!

A background check is required but will be valid for 5 years – after coaching your first season, you are free to coach for a long time! We will even train you to be the best coach that’s out there!

We are looking for coaches in the following Sports for ages 4-16:

  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • Soccer
  • Running (Run Club)
  • Cheerleading
  •  Wrestling

That does sound interesting, right?  Contact our Youth Sports office located at 7110 McIver Street, building 1056, call +1 (706) 545-0522 for more information and to pick up a Sports Coach Packet!  Download your coaches packet and return to the Youth Sports Office.  For any questions, call +1 (706)  545-0522.
