February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

You’re invited to join the Family Advocacy Program through the month of February, as we observe Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month with events across Fort Benning to raise awareness, provide resources, and promote safe, respectful relationships. Together, we’ll empower teens, parents, and community members to recognize the signs of unhealthy relationships and strengthen our commitment to build healthy futures. Prevention starts with awareness, and awareness starts with us!

Painting with a Twist for Couples: February 12, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. | Infantry Bar

Looking for a fun and creative date night? Join us for a guided painting activity where all paints and materials are provided at no cost. Couples can relax, laugh, and connect while creating art side by side. No experience needed, just bring your partner and enjoy an evening of creativity and positive connection!  Attendance is limited to 25 couples; registration is highly encouraged.

FAP Fact Friday: Teen Dating Violence Awareness: February 6, 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. | Fort Benning Army Community Service Facebook Live

FAP Friday brings the community together for an information‑sharing event on teen dating violence. Teens and families can join in to learn about warning signs, healthy relationship practices, and available resources. The session will be recorded on Facebook Live, making it easy for others to watch, reflect, and continue the conversation about building safe and respectful connections.

Wear Orange Day: February 11

On Wear Orange Day, community members unite to raise awareness about teen dating violence. By wearing orange, they show support for healthy relationships and stand together against abuse. The simple act of putting on orange becomes a powerful symbol of solidarity, encouraging conversations, visibility, and collective action to protect and empower teens.

Teens Taking a Stand: February 10, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. | Middle School Teen Center, Bldg. 1055

Teens will take part in an interactive activity that helps them recognize red flags and green flags in dating relationships. With guided discussion and hands-on participation, they learn to spot unhealthy behaviors and celebrate positive ones. The event builds awareness, encourages peer support, and empowers youth to make safe, respectful choices in their own relationships. *This event is for 6-8th graders ONLY*

Painting with a Twist: Parent & Child Night: February 26, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. | Infantry Bar

Spend quality time with your child at our free guided painting session! This event is FREE! All supplies are provided, so you can simply show up and enjoy creating together. As you paint side by side, you’ll share laughter, spark creativity, and strengthen family bonds in a relaxed, welcoming space.
