February has been designated as National ‘Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month’ (TDVAM).  Every February, young people and their loved ones join together across the country for a national effort to raise awareness about the issue of teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

This annual, month-long push focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.

The Fort Benning Family Advocacy Program (FAP) hosts several events during the month of February to bring awareness and prevent Teen Dating Violence happening in the first place.

  • February 10th, 3-4 p.m., Fay will discuss "What Teens Need To Do To Stay Safe". This presentation will examine teens and the introduction to Intimate Partner Violence. She will discuss why teens are more susceptible. Fay will also outline the signs and symptoms for identification and intervention.
  • February 17th, 3-4 p.m., Fay will discuss On-Line Dating, Dating Apps Pitfall, and Problems and Solutions for Teen Dating.
  • February 24th, 3-4 p.m., Fay will discuss The Parental Role in Teen Dating. This part of the presentation will include feedback that is usually received from parents and teens
