Sensory Storytime

#

Sensory Storytime is back, on an all-new day and time!  Starting August 20, join us every 3rd Thursday of the month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the Milton E. Long Library.

We are thrilled to welcome back our Sensory Storytime, specially created for our friends who may need a different type of Storytime experience.

This small-group program is thoughtfully designed to accommodate children with sensory issues, including sensitivity to light, loud sounds, or large crowds. To keep the environment calm and comfortable, we are restricting the number of participants for each session to a maximum of 15 young readers.

To help everyone feel relaxed and have fun, we will:

  • Use dimmer lighting and quiet, soothing music.
  • Utilize props and adaptive pieces like scarves, fidgets, and bubbles.
  • Provide a gentle, supportive pace.

Registration is not required, Sensory Storytime is free to attend and recommended for children under 12 years of age with sensory sensitivities; the final session is scheduled for December 17; for more information, call the Milton E. Long Library at +1 (706) 545-4911.
