Oktoberfest, Fort Benning’s favorite fall tradition, returns to Uchee Creek Friday through Sunday, October 20-22. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy traditional German music (including Sonnenschein Express, Yodelers, and the MCoE Band,) authentic German food and brews, games for all ages, pumpkin patch, hayrides, carnival rides (Ferris wheel, tea cups, merry-go-round), a cross country 10K, 5K and a Volksmarch.

Win a trip for two to Germany!

A masskrugstemmen is a traditional Bavarian endurance contest during which contestants hold a one-liter stein of beer in one outstretched arm for as long as possible. We call it stein hoisting, and two lucky winners of our annual Fort Benning Oktoberfest Stein Hoisting Competition, one male and one female, will each win a trip for two to Munich, Germany, courtesy of Hofbräu. These prizes, valued at $7,000, include airfare, hotel accommodations for four days and three nights, meals at Hofbräuhaus, and tour of the brewery.

This competition is open to the public, amateurs only. You must be at least 21 years old to compete. Participation pay $20 ($10 for the Hofbräu Munich Stein and $10 for the liter of beer.) There will be two preliminary rounds Friday and three Saturday. Contestants can compete in only one preliminary. The winner of each preliminary round advances to the finals Saturday night.

Oktoberfest is fun for the whole family, pet friendly and open to the public! Admission is $5 per person per day for guests 18 and older. Younger guests will not be charged admission but must be accompanied by an adult. Admission fees can be paid in cash or credit. Civilians are reminded they do not have to acquire a post access pass for this event if they use the Highway 165 entrance to Uchee Creek.
