Intimate Partner Violence and Alcohol and Substance Abuse Presentation

Gina Thompson, LISCW of the Birmingham Veterans Administration, will provide a virtual training on "Intimate Partner Violence and Alcohol and Substance Abuse."  This workshop will increase awareness in October Domestic Violence Awareness Month on the current statistics, trends, and relationship between intimate partner violence (IPV) and alcohol and substance abuse, signs of alcohol and substance abuse, the adverse mental and physical effects resulting from IPV and alcohol and substance abuse, and the severity of cases when alcohol and other substances are involved.   

This event will raise awareness and provide information on IPV and alcohol and substance abuse.
