Help the Hooch

The ‘Hooch needs your help!

Join MWR Outdoor Recreation and Fort Benning’s Clean Water Program for the annual Help the Hooch River Cleanup on October 2 from 9–11 a.m. at Uchee Creek. Volunteers will work together to clean up local rivers, streams, ponds and watershed areas, helping make a lasting difference in our community and environment. Site captains will meet volunteers at their assigned locations to provide a safety briefing and cleanup instructions. Participants are welcome to bring their own boat, and lunch will be provided following the cleanup. Click the link below to sign up! The last day to sign up will be September 21.

WHAT TO WEAR:

  • Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
  • Comfortable shirt (long sleeves can provide extra protection against insects and thorny plants)
  • Pants
  • Closed toe shoes (work boots if you have them)
  • Hat
  • Eye Protection
  • Work gloves (if you have them; a limited supply will be available at each site)
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Waders (optional)
