Family Advocacy Program presents: Children and Cyber Safety (Part 1) - virtual training presented by the National Organization or Victim Assistance (NOVA)!

Join the Family Advocacy Program on April 12 from 1-2:30 p.m. for a virtual interactive training presented by NOVA.

Learn more about emerging trends and best practices in cyber safety for children. This subject area is constantly evolving and the NOVA instructors will provide you with the current risks facing children online and best tips for safety.  Family Advocacy Program is sponsoring this webinar, attendees receive 1.5 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for all D-SAACP and NACP credentialed advocates for attending Part 1, earn another 1.5 CEU’s by attending Part 2 of this series.  Pre-registration is required.

Presenter is: Alejandro Palacios, NALC Manager @NOVA:  Formerly a victim advocate at the Office of Victim Services at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Alejandro was the lead advocate of the Victim Offender Dialogue Program. Alejandro facilitated victim initiated, victim centered and victim driven dialogues within victims/survivors and their offenders. Also, during his tenure he educated victims on their victims’ rights; as well, as assisted them to exercise them. Such as being heard during criminal justice proceedings, in particular to provide impact statements and oppose parole of inmates during clemency hearings. Furthermore, Alejandro has worked as a technology safety specialist with the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Providing technical assistance and training on assessing and safety planning around abuse by means of technology. Alejandro also was a trainer with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence from 2013- 2016.
