Hunters ED Course

Get ready for an exciting adventure with our brand-new Hunters Ed Course, brought to you by Outdoor Recreation at the Recreation Shooting Complex!

Course Dates are July 25-26 and August 29-30.

• Day 1: Classroom Session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (1-hour lunch break)
• Day 2: Range Day from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This hands-on course is perfect for those who prefer in-person learning over online material.  Range Day includes 10-15 rounds each of .22 or shotgun.  Led by the expert Fort Benning Game Wardens and Alabama DNR officers, you'll gain invaluable skills and earn your Alabama Hunters Ed card, essential for hunting on base.

Best of all, this course is FREE!  Registration opens July 1 and closes August 28.   We have limited space available, secure your spot by calling Outdoor Recreation at +1 (706) 545-7978. 

Note: The range portion is optional but highly recommended for a complete experience.  Important for Parents: If your child is the only one receiving the Hunters Ed card, you must accompany them throughout the course. However, you won't be able to take the test for your own card or participate in the range activities. Don't worry, your presence won't count towards the participant limit.
