Registration Information

Fort Benning hosts the 10th Annual Field Day for Tri-Community Exceptional Children on April 17!  This great event provides an opportunity for the Fort Benning and surrounding community’s exceptional children to experience a day of fun, interactive sporting events and activities celebrating each child’s unique abilities while fostering the emotional and social growth of participants.

More than 1,400 students from across the Chattahoochee Valley will meet at York Field. Fort Benning schools and homeschoolers, students from Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County, Muscogee County, Lee County and Harris County will participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities such as:

  • 100/50/25 Meter Race
  • Soccer Shoot
  • Home Run Derby
  • Football Quarterbacking
  • Grenade Throw
  • Carnival Throw
  • Tug of War
  • Parachute
  • Dance Floor
  • Paint Party
  • Army Obstacle - tires, stakes with rope, tunnels & step over
  • Basketball

Our wheelchair athletes will meet at Smith Fitness Center to participate in:

  • 25-Meter Kickball Carry
  • Bowling
  • Bean Bag Target Toss
  • Frisbee Toss
  • Paint Party

The day begins at 9 a.m. when our exceptional athletes run through the start ribbon to open the games. The games will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., and each student athlete will receive a medal to remember this great day.

Volunteers should plan to be at York Field at 8 a.m. on April 17 for assignments and instructions. Additional information will be emailed to you prior to Field Day. The last day to register will be Friday, April 14.

Please Note: There will be limited parking in the areas surrounding buildings 4 and 6 on April 17. Be prepared to expect traffic delays, especially in the morning. Smith Fitness Center will be closed on April 17, from 4 a.m. – 3 p.m.
