Free Resources

Free Resources

MWR Patrons, as we continue to assess the impact of the COVID-19 threat, we must adjust our business and recreation operations to reduce the spread of this contagious virus.  With that being done, we are offering some free resources from our partners that can help during this time.  Below are some that we have recieved, please check them out.

Chalk the Walk

Grab the kids and head outdoors for 1 mile of fun. The MWR Sports and Fitness team has marked a sidewalk trail with hopscotch games and other chalk challenges around Blue and French Fields. This route is kid and stroller friendly.

There are variety of chalk stations along the route. Parents and kids can take a break, write a message, include your own challenges or draw pictures. If you choose to add to your own drawings and challenges, please use the hand sanitizer before and after using the chalk.

If you are on Facebook or Instagram, tag Fort Benning MWR and use hashtag #BenningAdventures in a photo of your creations for a chance to be featured!

While you’re on your walk, don’t forget to take a picture and tag #BenningAdventures

Effective Monday March 23, 2020 the Fort Benning School Meals Program will offer FREE Grab-and-Go breakfast and lunch meals to ALL children ages 0-18 for as long as the school closure continues. This program will be solely for the pick-up of meals; no meals will be consumed at the school. Children do not have to be Fort Benning students to participate.

All meals will be offered Monday –Friday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch for one day and breakfast for the next day will be distributed at the same time. Please note that meals will be served every day, Monday-Friday, excluding holidays until schools re-open, regardless of the school calendar “off” dates, such as spring break or teacher training days.

At this time, children must be present to receive meals. We will distribute meals while you remain in your vehicle.  Children may also walk to the pick-up site to receive meals without a parent present, as appropriate. As a reminder, students nor parents will have access to the school building during meal pick up.

Pick up locations are listed below:

McBride Elementary School; 700 Custer Rd – left side of building; cafeteria entrance

Faith Middle School at 1375 Ingersoll St – at bus loop

All 5 components of the lunch meal and 4 breakfast items will be served in accordance with USDA nutrition and meal pattern requirements.  Menus may be found on the School Meals Program page of your school’s website at .

Ms. Cathy Holmes will coordinate the implementation of any meal accommodations.  She can be reached by email at or phone at 706-545-8266.
